Kaspersky Lab to keep on selling soft in US after Best Buy’s rejection

MOSCOW, Sep 11 (PRIME) -- Russian antivirus software producer Kaspersky Lab will continue to sell its products in the U.S. via its Web site and other retailers after Best Buy, the U.S.’ major electronics seller, has suspended the distribution of the company’s software, a Kaspersky Lab spokesperson said on September 10.

“Kaspersky Lab and Best Buy have suspended cooperation at the moment. Meanwhile, a format of cooperation between the companies may be further revised. Kaspersky Lab has been successfully working with the retailer for almost 10 years by offering its products to buyers at stores and on the Web site of Best Buy,” the spokesperson said.

Best Buy has no more Kaspersky Lab’s products on its Web site.

Kaspersky Lab will continue to offers cybersecurity solutions in the U.S. through its own Web site and other retailers.

U.S. mass media reported earlier in September, citing sources, that the Senate wants to impose a complete ban on the use of Kaspersky Lab’s products by state authorities and their affiliated firms amid worries that the company may be in cahoots with the Kremlin. Russia denies all the allegations.
